CITIES FORUM has been awarded with the contract of designing “The smart city and sustainable master plan of Cartagena”. We are working closely with the city officials of the City Council to define Cartagena’s new strategy in the areas of smart and sustainable city for the coming years.

Over the last 4 years (2016-2020) Cartagena has undergone an urban, social and economic transformation large enough to justify a thorough review of many of the public policies, plans and strategies developed years ago in the Cartagena City Council. This need was evident at the beginning of 2020, now, in the first quarter of 2021, it is essential to undertake the developing of an ambitious, inclusive and bespoke “Smart city and sustainable master plan” to face the new challenges and to leverage the new opportunities the city has ahead.

The objectives of this Plan are:

• Define a roadmap tailored to the needs of Cartagena in terms of digitization and smart city services.
• Act as a catalyst for the digital, green and sustainable recovery of Cartagena
• Facilitate a seamless and agile digital transition, favoring at the same time the sustainable urban development supported by a low-carbon economy.
• Promote modernization, innovation and the use of new technologies both in the public administration and in the private productive sectors.
